Printing Scenario Editor Maps

Hi Vasile,
Thankyou for the compliments.
You can replace any of the graphics with those of your own. Just replace them in the « graphics » folder. If an image already exists then that copy is used and not overwritten.
( The 3 at the bottom of the image above are ones I created myself for the BT versions of the D-Day maps which can be found on here. There are too many variations to include all the possible interactions between different terrain types, but the large curve will feature in the new version which will be released soon. I have changed the colour on the ocean tiles too, so that they blend in together better on the coast.)
The medal track is a tricky one. There are a number of different variations of it and some of them do not work with some quantities of medals. If I can devise a way of making them work then I will, of course, include it in the program.
Regards,
Kian

I have this all medals maybe they will help you.

You can cut them in gimp and add them to your program.
This would be an important adding

It appears that I have misunderstood you.
I thought that you were referring to the background of the track itself.
The default medals are U.S. and German but if you select either Great Britain, Italy, Japan or Soviet Union as the nation then the correct medal will be shown on the track.
Or do you perhaps mean the ‘metallic’ ring around the medal?
Again, all of the graphics can be replaced by anything you prefer.

@Vasile
I have just made some medals with the ring around them and they do look better on the track, so thankyou for the idea. They will be included in the next release.

Ok, thanks a lot. This program is an important piece of memoir 44 comunity

And when will be the next release???

Very soon. I have it compiled for all 3 platforms and am currently testing for bugs. I will post as soon as it is ready.

Fantastic. Thank you :folded_hands:

The new version 7.81 is now available.
The major change is that some normally unavailable elements can now be displayed through the use of modifiers within the Label for a hex.
These include: Supported Units, Entry markers, an inverted Road/Rail crossing, larger Ocean curves, the ‘Village’ version of a Town hex and Ocean hexes.
The Coast hexes now blend better with the Ocean.
The medals on the the track now have a lovely shiny ring around them - thanks @Vasile .
I have also included an .m44 file which when used within the program will download all the map graphics. This can be lengthy and produces an ugly map but will save time in future when generating maps with a large amount of graphics.

There is a video here: https://tinyurl.com/3j5jmbb4
which shows some of the new features through the creation of the Breakthrough version of Sword Beach. It also gives an example of using Exclusions to reposition the text and of direct editing of the map itself.

What label is used for inverted Road/Rail crossing? Thanks.

IX will do it. Don`t forget the asterixs - when I enter it here it is turned into italics.

I think that I found a bug… In the editor there was a tank unit in a bunker in a jungle camouflaged but in the battlemap it is erazed I will send you some screenshots.

And the units with badges on the landing crafts. The badges must be seen not covered by landing crafts.

At the flamethrower and mobile artillery it is wrong but at the mortar it is ok.

Hi @Vasile ,
Regarding the missing tank, please check the graphics folder for the image ‘mp_tankjp’. If for any reason the image has been corrupted or failed to download then it will not display correctly.
As for the issue with the landing craft, the order in which the images are added is subject to the order in which they appear in the .m44 file. This is part of the reason why the Exclusions are there so that different elements can be put in layers and reordered as preferred. There are so many possibilities within a given hex that some overlap is inevitable. That said, it is not something which I have been able to reproduce so I will send you a DM and I will see what can be done.

@Vasile I think I have solved the mystery.
Am I correct that you are using the online version of the Editor ?
It seems that the online version adds elements to the file in the order in which they are added to the map, whereas the original version sorted them into the correct order.
I do not know whether this is a recent change or it has always been like that because, when I create a map I just instinctively add them in order from back to front.
For the moment, the only solution is to delete the elements in a problematic hex and then add them in order. For example, add the Landing craft then the unit.
I will apply myself to coming up with a programmatic solution.
I believe that this also explains the first problem you mentioned, assuming that the terrain hex was added after the unit.

Ok. So, I added them in order and there aren’t any problems now. You must add them in order and
all will be fine. Thank you for the clarify.

Thanks to @Vasile a new change in the online version of the Editor has come to light. The old version ensures that the elements appear in the .m44 file in the correct order, but the online one does not do this.
If for example a unit was added to the map then a terrain hex is added afterwards, this would cause the terrain to cover up the unit.
Version 7.83 is now available and corrects for this difference.

I have a new update ready to go but one of my testers has had trouble getting the Mac version to work. I would be grateful if anyone who uses MacOS would volunteer to test it out for me. Nothing is required other than launching the program and seeing what happens.
Thanks in advance,
Kian

Version 8.0 is now available over on BGG.
It includes support for Guillaume Rayer’s excellent SeaPack expansion and a host of other improvements too numerous to put here.
