Historical Background:
By mid October the fighting amidst the rubble of the Red Barricades Factory Complex in the northern section of Stalingrad had
drawn in more and more of the German 6th Army’s forces. On the 22nd the 79th Infantry division, supported by engineers, tanks
and artillery, launched an intense attack over the Railroad embankment toward the Barricades Factory.
Under heavy fire from dug-in tanks and Russian snipers, the German troops slowly made ground toward the Factory. The Soviet
line finally broke, but by day’s end only a corner of the factory had been taken.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

My first winter scenario was a good experience. But I didn’t read the rule which
says that special forces are engineers, so I play the scenario with those units transformed in special forces.
I played with my usual opponent and for the first game I took the axis side.
The game was slow, first I attacked his units that were in first line and took 2 medals but then he counterattack me with his armor units and score 5 medals. I destroyed his armor but then he took the 3 temporary medal objectives and had 8 medals. Then he played an air power witch weak my artillery and and two armor.
Then I took 4 medals and go close to a factory with my elite armor but that armor was destroyed by enemy artillery and the first game ended 10-7 for allies. Unfortunately I have no photos with the first game.
The second game was faster, I took the allied side and score some medals because my opponent shot only at snipers and didn’t kill anyone. He played air power and weak my 4 infantry units that were on the baseline but I played a left flank assault that score 2 medals and weak 2 units. Then I played armor assault and destroy 1 unit that was on left flank but I didn’t retake the factory that my opponent occupy. After that my opponent play attack in center and destroy 1 sniper. In final round I played close assault, kill one unit and take a medal from one factory. This second game was 10-0 for allies
I recommend this scenario because it’s well designed, allies have only 4 command cards and political comisar chip but they still win. It is a long scenario but it is fun.
End of the second game
If you played this scenario too, please write here your experience.
