Historical Background:
Normandy, July 8, 1944. On its advance along road number 8, the 120th Infantry Regiment (30th US Infantry Division) reached the village of Le Dézert. On July 9th, SS troops counter-attacked but were repelled by the massive support provided by the US Air Force and the heavy fire of the 743th Tank Battalion. The next day, the 120th Infantry Regiment was relieved by the 39th Infantry Regiment from the 9th US Infantry Division.

Setup photo:
In the first game I played on the axis side while my opponent played allied side. Allies started the advance but an axis Barrage destroyed their mobile artillery. Allies then made a brilliant move. they sacrificed an armor unit and after I destroyed it I exited from my positions trying to counterattack. But allies had 2 more armor units waiting so they finished off my units quickly and won the game at the score of 6-5.

Before the second game we switched sides and then began the battle. Allies attacked with their bombers and with the help of the Saturation Bombing combat card they managed to destroy an armor unit. Axis then played a Barrage against the mobile artillery unit but managed only to reduce it own to one figure. After that allies launched a General Advance forcing some units to retire but without scoreing any hits. Next turn axis brought their armor to the front line and the game turned into a tank firefight until two tank units were destroyed. Allies then destroyed an axis’ fighter unit and next turn they won the game at the score of 6-2.

Conclusion: ALLIES MUST STAY IN THEIR POSITIONS and try to eliminate the mobile artillery.
