[Important Update] Sunsetting Memoir 44 Fans

Hey everyone, Gonçalo here.

It’s been a while. I started this project in June 2019 as a means to get people off Facebook groups, and as an alternative to the old and dying Days of Wonder forum that was full of bots.

Since starting this project I’ve had two wonderful kids who now take up most of my time. Despite not posting a lot in recent years, I’ve been diligently keeping the website safe. Since I was one of the main drivers and posters here, activity has understandably died down quite a bit. On the Facebook group, it’s been good to see people are still active, so that’s where I’d recommend our users to head to after this.

I’ve produced and posted a lot of resources here, and these will be available for a little over a month until I shut the website down at the end of September. Feel free to use this time to download resources you liked, to back up your data or to get contact information from people you’ve met on the website.

All things come to an end, and the overwhelming feeling right now is gratitute. I’m grateful for everyone who shared this space with me. I hope you and your families are well. I hope to see you on the battlefield some day at one of the tournaments :slight_smile:

To respect user’s privacy, even if someone else wanted to keep the lights on from now on, I wouldn’t be able to share user information. After the shutdown date, information that is not backed up will be wiped.

TL;DR: After a long and memorable run, Memoir '44 Fans will officially close in September 30th, 2026. The forum will remain functional until September 1st and enter a 30-day Read-Only phase, and will remain in that phase until it goes offline at the end of September. New user registrations are now closed.

Oh man. That’s sad news. I just found this place recently and have only recently gotten into memoir. This place has been super helpful in helping me learn the game and just how big the community is. Sure wish I had discovered this game years ago.

Thank you for all your hard work on this. I’ll be sad to loose a resource since I’m not on Facebook. Good luck on all your future endeavours and may the dice roll in your favour.

Hi Gonçalo,
Thankyou for settings this up in the first place.(Has it really been 7 years?)
It has been an invaluable resource, much welcomed with the increased unusability if the old forums. I have made a number of friends on here and it is all thanks to you and your hard work.
