Gates of moscow - october 18, 1941

Historical Background:
In October, the German High Command launched the final offensive of 1941 - Operation Typhoon. The initial German success on
the Eastern Front had put them deep into the Soviet Union on all fronts, but the advance slowed before they could reach the key
cities of Mother Russia. The Soviets used their large population to continuously produce more military forces. Although poorly
equipped and inexpertly led, the Soviet soldiers were deployed in a last desperate line of defense to keep the German army
from reaching Moscow.
Mozhaisk, the last major town on the direct road to Moscow was captured but the German advanced stalled. The exhausted army
had no additional reserves for the final push on into Moscow.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

For the first game I took axis side and my opponent took the allies.
I attacked in center until I destroyed his guns. He move out of his defensive positions and weak me some units but then I destroy all of them with my amor. My opponent had so many great cards and dice rolls and he destroy me 4 tank units. But I took the bridge, then I kill him one armor and win by 7-4.

Bridge secured!

The other game I played many cards in center and bring my armor on hills. But my dice rolls were so bad and I took only 3 medals.
Then my opponent attacked my left flank forcing 1 unit to retreat out of the forest hexes. When I run out of cards in center I played an infantry assault on left and killed one armor. Then the Germans turn the tide by destroying my guns and tanks from hills. In the last turn he played a recon in center, use it as an air power and kill me one infantry unit. Final score was 7- 6 for axis after a long game.

Conclusion:
This is a long scenario and axis aren’t in a good position at the start of the game.
Russians have guns that can fire at tanks with 2 dice and hit even on flags but they have the commisar rule.

I think that the best strategy for Russians is to stay on their position and bring their tanks on the hills to roll 3 dice when fire at enemy units.

I think that the best strategy for Germans is to destroy the guns first and then take the medal on the bridge. If the guns are destroyed, infantry will be an easy target from 3 spaces.
