Historical Background:
The first days of the Warsaw Uprising were crucial in establishing the battlefield for the rest of the fight. During the first four days, there was an intense battle for the districts in Warsaw. Under-equipped resistance forces were prepared and trained for a series of coordinated surprise dawn attacks. In addition, many units were already mobilized and waiting at assembly points throughout the city.
The resistance fighters were most successful in the districts: City Centre, Old Town and Wola. Fighters in different areas failed to link up with each other and with areas outside Warsaw, leaving each sector isolated from the others. After four days the Armia Krajowa controlled large areas in Warsaw and the fight was on for the liberation of the city.
The stage is set, the battle lines are drawn, and you are in command. The rest is history.

Setup Photo:
The third scenario from Dutch Open 2018. For the first game I took axis side and my opponent took allies side. Allies started to attack axis’ units but they left their positions and remain without cover. Axis then played
Recon In Force and weak 2 allies units. Allies attacked in more each sections but they were pulled back by the Germans. After those actions axis attacked in center and, with very lucky dice rolls, weak down to a single figure 2 partisans units. Allies played barrage and scored their last medal because axis played firefight and took 2 medals for a 7-3 win.

For the second game we changed sides and began the battle. Allies played Direct From HQ and weak 2 axis units but they didn’t leave their positions in the towns. axis then brought his train near the stations and eliminated one resistance unit but they couldn’t resist an resistance’s attacks in the towns (and couldn’t resist at resistance’s epic dice rolls) and lost the game at the score of 7-4.

Conclusion: a good urban scenario and I recommend it.
